Principal's Message

It is with great pride that I welcome you to our school and our web site.

Bishop Conaty-Our Lady of Loretto High School was founded in 1923 as Los Angeles Catholic Girls' High School to educate young women in central Los Angeles . It was the first Archdiocesan-sponsored Catholic high school for girls. In 1955, Catholic Girls' High School's name was changed to Bishop Conaty Memorial High School . In 1989 the school merged with Our Lady of Loretto High School as Our Lady of Loretto-Bishop Conaty High School, and in 1994 Bishop its named was changed to Bishop Conaty-Our Lady of Loretto High School. Over the years, the school has graduated thousands of young women who have continued their educations in colleges and universities nation-wide. Our alumnae have gone on to become doctors and nurses, lawyers and judges, writers, artists, educators, scientists, engineers, business professionals, religious sisters, and home-makers. Historically, our mission has been to provide a quality, affordable, comprehensive, college preparatory Catholic education. Today, in partnership with our alumnae, parents, guardians, faculty, staff and students, we strive to instill in students a lifelong commitment to learning, Christian values, responsible citizenship, and community service. Teaching for success is our goal. Bishop Conaty-Loretto graduates will be leaders of their church, workplace, community and home.

Exciting things happen at Bishop Conaty-Loretto every day, from high-quality learning to meaningful faith formation to outstanding activities to championship athletics. Stop by and visit the school. Keep checking the school's web site for news and information. And alumnae, make Bishop Conaty-Loretto your friend on Facebook.

May God bless you throughout this and every year.

Sincerely,

Richard A. Spicer,
Principal
