$1,000 Scholarships are awarded to the top 5 scorers on the High School Placement Test taken in January.  Upon admittance this award is renewable for each of the four years provided that the student achieves a 3.0 GPA in each semester.



Carmen Fraga Mexican-American Scholarship

Alumnae Carmen Fraga '50 was the daughter of Mexican immigrant parents and wanted to make a difference in the lives of Bishop Conaty - Our Lady of Loretto Mexican-American students for years to come. 


Bishop Conaty - Our Lady of Loretto students registered for the 2018-2019 academic year, may apply for the Carmen Fraga Mexican-American Scholarship for distribution towards BCL tuition for the 2018-2019 school year.



Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a student registered for the 2018-2019 academic year at Bishop Conaty - Our Lady of Loretto High School
  • Has the ability to demonstrate their lineage as a Mexican-American through a two page essay.


  • Applicants must complete and submit the required Carmen Fraga Mexican-American Scholarship application by Friday, June 29, 2018.

Required Documents

  • Two page Essay describing your lineage to Mexican-American ancestry:
    • Family culture, traditions and celebrations are an essential part of who we are and who we become.  With this thought in mind, please trace your lineage from Mexico.  Discuss family pride.  (Your strong Catholic roots may contribute to your heritage.)  Describe traditions and celebrations which are important to you.
  • Include the student name and grade in 2018-2019 school year on essay.
All applications must be received by Bishop Conaty - Our Lady of Loretto High School Business Office no later than Friday, June 29, 2018, in order to be evaluated for this Scholarship.
