Parent Service Hours The athletic department provides opportunities for parents to earn service hours while helping out the athletic program. Talk to the coach or athletic director for more information Team Rules Practice begins when the coach sets it. Be on time with water to hydrate. Players should be dressed and doing their warm-ups by practice starting time. Players are responsible for bringing out and taking in their own equipment. No food or drink other than water may be brought on the gym floor. There is no eating or drinking allowed in the gym. Sports drinks must not be brought on the gym floor at any time. These must be consumed and kept by the doors or outside. Friends are not welcome to socialize with team members during practices/games. Please do not sit with anyone other that team members. You should be concentrating and learning from the game, You are a member of a TEAM whether or not you play. While the TEAM is on the field/court, you are responsible to watch, cheer and support your TEAM. When game/practice is over is when the TEAM leaves!!! If you are not able to attend practice or a game (3 excused) you speak to the coach personally. When a coach is talking, listen. Respect your teammates. If you are late for practice you make up all the exercises and warm-ups plus more…for being late. HUSTLE EVERYWHERE! You play what you practice. Everyone must help with the equipment…managers are not servants to players. They are very important members of the team, without them, there would be no games. Treat them with respect! All players are responsible to pick up their own trash and take care of the equipment. ATTITUDE is half of the battle in learning any sport. A team member’s attitude affects the team. If you have a valid problem with something that is happening on the field/court, see one or all of the coaches privately. All cheering and comments should be supportive and encouraging only…let the coach do the coaching. After a game reflect on the team’s performance. What was done well, what needs improvement? The Athletic Department and the Horizon League support the “VICTORY WITH HONOR” code of behavior. Defiance of these sportsmanship ethics will be dealt with by both the Athletic Department and the Horizon League. You must take special care of school purchased uniform issued to you and turn it in at the end of the season, on time. Loss or damage will result in a total replacement fee. Each athlete should understand the importance of proper hydration during competition. Water should be brought by the athlete to insure proper hydration. Horizon League and California Interscholastic Federation Policies and Regulations have their own pages linked to the site.
