Memorize the first 8 lines of the Prologue to Act 1 of Romeo and Juliet.
Due:
Assignment
Find a passage from anywhere in pages 582 - 593. Type it out and go on line to find a picture that you think illustrates or goes with that picture. (Get a picture that is NOT from Romeo and Juliet.) Paste the picture next to the passage. Finally, explain ----in your own words---- why you chose that picture to go with the passage.
For example:
Lady Capulet. Marry, that "marry" is the very theme I came to talk of. Tell me daughter Juliet. How stands your dispositions to be married?
Juliet. It is an honor that I dream not of.
Lady Capulet. Well think of marriage now. Younger than you, here in Verona, ladies of esteem, are made already mothers. By my count, I was your mother much upon these years that you are now a maid. Thus then in brief: The valiant Paris seeks you for his love.... What say you? Can you love the gentleman?
In this picture a mother is having a serious talk with her teenage daughter. Maybe like Lady Capulet, this mother is talking to her daughter about marriage. I chose this picture because Juliet is still thirteen. Her mother says that "I was your mother much upon these years that you are now a maid." This means that she was just thirteen or fourteen when she had Juliet. That's why I chose a picture of a twenty-seven year old mother. The teenager is being respectful and is listening to her mom much the same way Juliet listens to her mother.
