This course presents a chronological survey of American literature and the major trends in American thought. Student compositions will usually be 500 words or more in length. Students will be taught to research and write a 1000 word I-Search paper (a research paper on a subject selected by the student from her own interests). They will learn the MLA forms for a research paper. The students will prepare for the SAT and ACT writing tests.
