For Tuesday you must have read Chapters 16 & 17 in To Kill a Mockingbird. You must also turn in a response paper for these chapters.  The response paper should be your honest reaction to what you understood and what you didn't understand in the chapters.  Have an opinion about the chapters and explain everything you write with examples from the chapters.  If you saw the movie you may compere the chapters to the scenes in the movie.

Read chapter 1 of To Kill a Mockingbird.  Then write your response to what you read.  Your homework must be typed. Double spaced.  I expect your response to be at least half a page.  Some questions you could respond to are:
  • What did you think of chapter 1? Why?
  • What did you understand or what didn't you understand?  Why?
  • What do you think of Dill and Jem?
  • What do you think of Boo Radley?  Do you feel sorry for Boo?  Why?
You may also come up with your own comments about the characters and what they do in the chapter.  Please read the chapter and keep your response honest.  You may also write about the things you didn't understand so we can discuss them in class.

Students who cannot type their work at home will find the library open at 7:30 Monday morning.  Printer copies are $ .10 each.
